Gang War Heats up in Bonny River
Bonny River, NB - A turf war is under way in peaceful Bonny River and Matty Walsh says it's not a good situation. Walsh met with reporters on Thursday morning briefly and offered, "Joe Stevens has gone completely nuts. This stuff about tipping and tree stand turf is out of hand. I was in Bonny River Wednesday and met him on the road. I tramped 'er down and got out of there immediately, feeling my life was risk. He had a car load of guys I've never seen before and I think they meant business. I was going to stop and have a beer with him."

Games will consist of two 15 minute halves with a 5 minute intermission in between where teams will alternate ends.
All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games.
Each team is to designate a captain.
Two games will take place at the same time at each end of the ice surface. The neutral zone will be for tournament officials.
Each team consists of a 5 man roster which is to be submitted over e-mail. I will post each teams rosters on this site as they come in.
A player can only play for the team that his name appears on the roster. Failure to ice a team will result in forfeit.
Providing we have 24 teams register, there will be 6 divisions of 4 teams. Each team plays a round robin within their division.
Top two teams from each division advance to Championship Sunday (12 teams in total ).
Top 4 teams of tourney get a bye; next 8 playoff to decide who plays top 4 ( single elimination )
A chalk line will be laid for center ice. The game will begin with two center men taking a face off. The only stoppage of play will occur if someone is injured or there is a penalty. There will be game officials. There is no offsides or icings; it is continuous play for the entire 15 minutes. If a penalty does occur, the player will serve a two minute penalty and play will become 3 on two.
When a team does score, the team that scores must retreat behind the center ice line and the scored on team has 15 seconds to get the ball out of the net and proceed before the scoring team can cross center ice and attack.
When the keeper freezes the ball, the attacking team must back a minimum of 15 feet away from his net so he can play the ball off to his teammate.
As mentioned earlier, your lone sub can be made on the fly.
The game concludes once the two 15 minute halves have been played.
Games can finish in a tie in the Round Robin Segment.
Prizes
A cash prize will also be awarded to the Championship Team ( This will be determined once all teams are registered )
Cunningham: "Walsh Will Not Be a Part of Our Plans"
Blacks Harbour, NB - Geoff Cunningham is keeping the cards close to his vest but did reveal who he wasn't interested in. Based on a recent poster of Matty Walsh, the prospective owner of the Bonny River Ratz said, "That is not the look we are trying to portray in Bonny River. Puking all over yourself and laughing it off is not what we're all about. "

Chambers Claims Top Prize at World Air Guitar Competition
Chambers noted at the well-attended reception, "I owe a lot to Taylor for spinning a lot of good stuff in the Ratz dressing room all year. Also, I practise probably 10-15 hours a week. Playing air guitar is not something you just do. It is all in the mind and you have to focus. I must say I'm at my best after a few beer when I'm really relaxed and can really rock the joint."

Will Stevens "Acting Hard" Scare People?
Blacks Harbour, NB - An informal survey conducted by Matty Walsh has found that some of the new looks Joe Stevens has been sporting lately will act some street cred and make some people very afraid. Walsh said, "I checked around my hood and everybody is axing me who this guy is. I tell them it's just Joe Stevens of the Ratz but they seem to be so scared. I ain't scared and ain't nobody on the Kingfishers fixing to be scared either. He ain't fooling us none, know what I'm saying?"

The Mona Lisa Discovered in St. Stephen
St. Stephen, NB - It might not be the place you'd expect to find it, but the Mona Lisa has been found in St. Stephen. You walk in the door of the St. Stephen Art Gallery and a bandanna wearing employee listening to Pink Floyd takes you around to the exhibits and and the back you will find her puffing on a fat ass J.
The gallery's hours are Sunday to Saturday from the time buddy gets in to when buddy gets hungry and goes home.
Richardson and Ganong Launch New Ad Campaign
Andrew Moffitt in New Ad
Pilltown, NB - Two boyhood friends have taken what was a small idea and gone global with it. Chris Richardson and Nick Ganong have launched Pilltown Pilsner locally and plan on taking the world by storm by the end of 2009. A very clever ad campaign and a great product make the is a surefire bet according to the Richardson. Richardson added, "Me and Nick have been talking about this for a long time. We felt the name was right. The posters are really top notch. It's a good time to be in Pilltown. We got Andrew Moffitt to do some spots for us too."
Stevens Gets Rough Ride at Rodeo
Joe Stevens Get Roughed up by Bull
Bonny River, NB - Although Joe Stevens' time with the Bonny River Ratz may be drawing to a close, potential boss man Geoff Cunningham wasn't impressed with his recent antics.
Cunningham said, "I see where Stevens was riding a bull in Bonny River on the weekend. How in hell am I supposed to deal some guy who has been all roughed up? This guy is still the property of the Ratz and should not be taking part in that crap. He will be dealt with, take that to the bank."
Cunningham has long been rumoured to be in the running for the purchase of the famed organization and has made it known publicly that Stevens and others could be on the trading block.
Repoort: Richardson Could Be On His Way Out in Ratz Nation
Bonny River, NB - The off season is certainly not quiet in Ratz Nation. As rumours continue about the sale of the team, another shocker evolved over the weekend. Ratz star Chris Richardson has reportedly been told by captain Joe Stevens that he will be required to undergo a complete mental exam before next season. Stevens noted,"I have heard that he has been running around betting against the Habs. There must be something wrong with him somewhere. He landed at Ratz Headquarters on the weekend with this ridiculous Ninja costume on and obviously has been enjoying the grub since the season ended."

War of Words Continues
Kingfishers GM Matty Walsh
Blacks Harbour, NB - The ice has long melted at the Fundy Arena, and the celebrating is long over with as well. It has been three weeks since the end of the 2008-2009 season and Matty Walsh still has some unfinished business that he felt he needed to get off his chest.
The FIHL champs goalie Andrew Dugas sent out an e-mail after his team won to many players throughout the league that didn't sit well with Walsh. The message was congratulatory to many of the players and teams but did include some things about the Kingfishers that Walsh didn't like and didn't think was fair. The comments caught him "completely off guard" as he had always felt that the league was all in fun and that win or lose, everybody was happy. Dugas was critical of the voting process put in place for the team and individual winners; citing things like virtual ballot stuffing where people got votes because they were friends and not really reflective of how valuable they were or how talented they were either. For the record, the voting by all 7 teams decided that the Fundy Kingfishers were the Organization of the Year and this didn't sit well with Dugas. The votes were all based on the regular season only and did not include playoff action.
The Hockey Voice prides itself in being fair and balanced in its reporting and wanted to relate Dugas' story as well.
Here is the exact e-mail from Dugas.
Well ... where to start.....?
Thoughts
First I just want to put my 2 cents into this!. (Matty knows where I'm coming from with this for I sent him a personal e-mail regarding the matter earlier in the season). This being just an industrial league hockey and our awards being really just names appointed to a title and no actual hardware for the winning player to hold onto. I do want to say I believe there was a major over looking in one of the awards. I only wish that in the awards GM's could vote for their own team (Yes; I do understand why they can't). But I still can't realize why the Kingfishers got best Organization. Truthfully I think it takes more then just buying some new jersey's in order to win this award. The reason I say this is. I truly believe our team should have gotten this ...... based purely on the fact of the hard work, before the season started and during the season, by Dan Levesque. From having the teams money paid in full by the first deadline is one feet that's hard enough ( Trust Me!!!... If any one don't believe me try taking care of collecting your teams money next year and see how much fun it is.)
Secondly; we went from being like every other team in the league last year having 14 players and only 7-8 show up at some games. So this year we toke 17 players in hopes that at least 12 would show up. It just so happened that we got 17 players that still have a love for the game and want to play every night! Hats off too... 1. Our players and 2. Levesque for finding them all!! Thirdly; we as a team went from a 6-17-1 record last year being last place in the league. To a record of 14-8-2 this year and a perfect 6-0 through the playoffs. I'm not saying all this to be a dink, I just believe ya got to give credit where credit is due. I feel Levesque desires all the credit fir his behind the scenes work that doesn't usually get noticed!!
Class
Secondly; I'd like to say hats off to everyone in the league this year. I think the league saw great growth in its 3rd year. Not only by adding 2 more teams but also in adding a diffident constitution. And holding the teams/players to the constitution. At first there was player problems that was addressed and then stuck to quickly as the season went on. I know no one likes to have to be the enforcer of the off ice rules but it was done ... and backed up by the other GM's/players of the league. GOOD WORK!. Then there was some money issues I'd like to say good work for the Pirates coming together at the end of the year and paying the extra money per player. In-order to keep playing. By no means did we want to kick anyone out of the league but more importantly we didn't want to shorten the league by one less team. More growth in the league was even shown as the season went deeper. Just like to say hats off to the Community College as the season went on they quickly became the team that no one wanted to play because you never knew what to expect. From beating the First place XXX to giving the Kingfisher a run more then once; specially in the playoffs! Good Job all around NBCC! I also like to mention a special THANKS and HATS OFF to Kenny Wright. As if we weren't happy enough to have won the Fish Bowl to have it presented to us by Kenny's young fella that was defiantly a highlight and top notch move to end the season. Hats Off to the Wright's! Last but not least Hats off to XXX. For the past 3 years ( yes years not seasons. For even at the bar during the summer we still heard how you guys were going to kick our ass) we've heard the... well ... lets just say...remarks... haha! But even in losing there was nothing but well wishes and surprisingly even a couple phone calls of Congratulations long after the game was over! I only hope that any e-mails and phone calls that where sent my way where even received by Levesque!! As fare as I'm aware where not like Montreal. We're going into next season with all our players still under contract! For the most part I believe they all should be their to Defend The Fish Bowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is Walsh's own words;
"Dugas is right … we will overturn the votes for this award … let me know where to drop off the keys off for the Viper we got for the organization of the year award.
P.S. I won’t be going out of my way doing the awards next season, this is the 2nd year in a row Dugas has complained about them. They are just for fun. Perhaps one might argue that Mr. Van Wagoner isn’t the caliber of defensemen as Eric Jean or Chris Hoffman, or maybe someone may not feel Jordan Morrow is our league MVP. For people who people who think this, I say tough, this isn’t the NHL. I strongly support our league award winners as voted by their peers including the Kingfishers as organization of the year.
I can’t believe someone running another team would shoot down a fellow franchise via e-mail. You have to be a good winner as well as a good loser to show true class.”

Walsh Negotiating with Restaurant Chain
Walsh said, "Everybody is saying I'm bringing a Hooters in, and I'm saying no. It is similar but it's probably not what people have come to expect from them. It is quite possible the ladies may not be as hot but the beer will be cold. I met with a few people in Florida and had some pictures taken with some of the ladies. I had a few beer in me so I'm not really sure what they looked like, know what I'm saying? Just give me some time to work out some details first."

Walsh LIkes Cunny's Pick of Habs Over Bruins
Walsh Reviews Latest Box Office Hits
Fast and Furious - I never saw this but it sounds like Charlotte County when I was a kid. I hope there's people doing power turns in a gravel pit while everybody is standing around a "bomb fire" watching them. Now that's a kick ass time, man.
I love you, man - I haven't seen this one but where I come from, this will get you a sore face. I have no way of knowing, but I think this probably contains lots of shit-kickings. A must see.
The Haunting in Connecticut - Not sure what this is all about, but I think it is supposed to be "Hunting" in Connecticut. If so, it probably has a bunch of guys at the camp playing poker and drinking beer and fighting. If it is indeed "haunting," then I'm afraid I am way off. Go see it and let know, eh?
Hannah Montana The Movie - I'm not real sure but I think this is the kid of that guy that looks like Barry Melrose and did the achy Breaky Heart thing. I think his sister had a hit with Itchy Twitchy Twat too, but don't quote me on that, eh? I can't see this being much good, but then again, I didn't think Fubar would be good and it was really kick ass. Go see this and let me know, eh?
Cunny's Crystal Ball is Back!
- Montreal will “upset” the Bruins in 7 games. Carey Price will come out and show why he is long revered to be the next Patrick Roy.
- Kovalev will light up Thomas and Fernandez (yes, he will play too) and show why he is still the best player in the NHL.
- Jacques Lemaire will be the new head coach in Montreal by the NHL draft that will be held in Montreal this June.
- Geoff Cunningham and other Pennfield millionaires will buy the Bonny River Ratz just after moose season and clean house.
- Joe Stevens will be in St. Stephen Court answering assault charges the Monday after moose season.
- The Canucks will win the west and lose to the Habs in a thrilling all Canadian final in 7 games.
- Brian Burke will call in favours from Tampa Bay for the bullshit deals at the trading deadline that included Kolzig and other bags of crap. That will allow him to wheel and deal with the Islanders to get the #1 pick overall.

Ratz and XXX Support Walsh's Fundraiser
Blacks Harbour, NB - Jason McGrattan was all smiles on Tuesday. He met with reporters briefly and said, "Finally, Matty Walsh has come up with a fundraiser I can get on board with. I am going to the ATM to get a few twenties as we speak. My shitkickers are going on too. Me and Stevens will be getting our money's worth here boys. This is a very worthy fundraiser and I urge everybody to contribute."

Harris Draws Critcism from Kingfishers Management
Blacks Harbour, NB - Acting GM Josh Bagley was quick and to the point on Thursday. Bagley noted, "Harris looks like some kind of cheesy porn start in that get up. That is not the image our organization is trying to portray. I am appalled that the Hockey Voice would publish something like that too. I don't know what's wrong with Walsh and Harris. If they are supposed to be the leaders and set the example, we are in trouble."
Walsh Arrives in Florida
Daytona, Florida - Matty Walsh just stepped off the plane and the Hockey Voice obtained pictures of him in his swim suit. It appears that since the FIHL season ended, Walsh has not been working out all that hard. Walsh noted, "I took a couple weeks off from training and will get back into it. I will be ready when camp starts at the end of the summer."

Hockey Voice Makes Changes in Head Office Procedures
Bonny River, NB - Chris Richardson has announced that the Hockey Voice has found it necessary to put new rules in place at the Hockey Voice. Richardson said, "It is really in response to ideas put forth by Matty Walsh. The telephone answering charges are solely his idea. He said he's tired of people bugging him and wants them to pay for it. Also, the business hours change will fit in with his lifestyle too. We think this will make the office run much more efficiently."
Cunningham: "If I Buy the Ratz, Stevens is Gone"
Report: Ratz Will Be Sold by Moose Season
Bonny River, NB - A story that Joe Stevens says "is just something Cunny is floating with no basis of truth," says the Bonny River Ratz will be sold by the 2009 Moose Season. The unnamed source says that Geoff Cunningham has approval in principal from his backers and lenders to make the deal.
Stevens said, "We are busy right now with all the foreigners gawking at the high water in Bonny River and don't have time to talk to Cunny and his 10 cent millionaires. Where in hell is Cunny and his so-called buddies getting that kind of dough? They couldn't buy socks for a canary."

Harris Does Classic Eagles Album Remake
Blacks Harbour, NB - Jamie Harris has announced a remake of the classic Eagles album Hotel California. Harris noted, "I got a bunch together one night and we laid down the tracks. It's probably not as good as the Eagles, but you will notice some similarities. I had Joe Walsh play on my album but it's not the same guy they used. This guy was sleeping on my couch and somebody handed him a guitar and he just tore it up. We didn't have any drums but somebody had a tobacco can and we used that. The drummer's name is not Henley, it's Hanley from down the Bay I think. We thought he was pretty good at the time."

Walsh: "I'm All About the Love"
Blacks Harbour, NB - Matty Walsh says there's some things that he'd like to straighten out about himself. He said, "I know a lot of people think I'm perhaps grumpy and bit of a bastard sometimes. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm all about the love. I have shaved my chest hair to reflect that. I just want to wish everybody some peace and love and love and peace."
