Blacks Harbour, NB - The Bonny River Ratz seemed to have little energy at the outset as the spotted the NBCC Whalers leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but poured it on in the third period with 5 unanswered goals. Kyle Leslie lead the way with a pair while Chris Richardson, Joe Stevens, Eric Trueman, Greg Justason, Shane Watson, and Mark Taylor added singles. Player of the Game winner Warren Giesbrecht was spectacular in net, stopping breakways and wide open shots as the Ratz sputtered out of the gate.
Equally hot was NBCC goalie Brandon Simpson as he held his under-staffed team in the game early but as time wore on, the Ratz pounced on the opportunities and made them count. Drew Cunningham and Jerry Green scored for the Whalers.
