Chambers' secret fishing hole exposed

Carl Chambers keeps reeling them in

Bonny River, NB - Bonny River Ratz star Carl Chambers has always taken great pride in his fishing abilities and recently the Hockey Voice discovered his secret place. A very stunned Chambers said, "I've been bringing in the boys at work a few and they have been woofing them down like there's no tomorrow. In fact, one guy told me they tasted like shit, but were really, really good. I have to kinda laugh to myself about that one."

Ganong may face disciplinary action

Ratz star Joe Stevens tries out the waves
Nick Ganong makes a big splash

Hockey Voice Director of Photography Matty Walsh

St. George, NB - XXX star goalie Nick Ganong is in hot water with the club and he's not very happy about it. Ganong was photographed while snowboarding last spring by Matty Walsh and now he is facing a suspension for "conduct adversely affecting the team." Team GM Jason McGrattan was tight-lipped about it, but he and Ganong have reportedly been at odds over the issue.
Ganong said, "Walsh is really getting to me. The Hockey Voice seems to be everywhere and it's sickening. This is a little industrial hockey league and you'd think it was the NHL. Joe Stevens was photographed last year out surfing in the ocean and nothing was said about that. I think Taylor and the boys had better tone it down a bit. No further comment."

Report: Bagley and Richard work out with Easter Bunny to avoid being dealt

Josh Bagley (Front) and Frank Richard (Middle) and Easter Bunny (Back) work out
Blacks Harbour, NB - Kingfishers GM Matty Walsh reacted swiftly to news that two of his players, Josh Bagley and Frank Richard were photographed working out with the Easter Bunny.
Walsh quipped, "I don't know about those two and their future, but I think we could use the Easter Bunny on our back end. If I deal Hoffman like I'm trying to do, I'll need another big body back there and this guy looks good in the picture. I'm not crazy about the purple thing though, but I'll get used to it."

Harris "irreplaceable" according to Harris

Blacks Harbour, NB
- Kingfishers goalie Jamie Harris sat down to talk late Monday about his position on the team and what he feels he can bring to the table. "I can track the puck in behind the net without turning around. I now have extra arms to catch and block with. If Walsh deals me, I'll come back to haunt him and the rest of them idiots," noted a very confident Harris.

Walsh and Kingfishers "hope to make a big splash this summer"

Matty Walsh with invitation to make deals recently

Blacks Harbour, NB - Despite 3 championships in 4 years, the Fundy Kingfishers are poised to make more deals this summer and "shuffle the deck," according to acting GM Matty Walsh. "We're looking to land a big fish or two. Probably not a Mark Taylor type player but maybe a tier 2 or tier 3 guy. Then again, it wouldn't be outlandish for me to throw in a bunch of junk we got laying around along with some other incentives to land Taylor. I think Joe Stevens has my number on speed dial or he used to. The phones have been ringing already and I expect that to continue," noted Walsh as he sat down for an exclusive Hockey Voice interview.

One name that isn't being mentioned is Matty Walsh's. "No, I'm not on the block and you know why? Because I'm not giving them knuckleheads the power to make deals. I haven't been that twisted in a long time," added Walsh.

"Wolf Pack was Here"

Graffitti on Red Rock Road

Blacks Harbour, NB - Fundy Kingfishers management issued a stern warning late Sunday regarding graffitti that has surfaced in the area. "If somebody is trying to scare us, it only worked a lttile bit 'cause we ain't that scared right now," noted Jamie Harris speaking on the behalf of the club.

Joe Walsh gives back to community

Walsh auctions off Ratz rookie card for charity
Former Ratz star Joey Walsh
Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Former Ratz star Joe Walsh held a brief press conference Sunday at the Air Canada Center. The move was prompted solely by his desire to give back to the community and had nothing to do with trying to upstage Shane Smith whose rookie card had been revealed on the Hockey Voice. Joey (as his was known at the time to sound more hockey-like) played brielfy with the Bonny River Ratz at the 2006 BIG SHOW.
Walsh reflected back on his career and called it a "high point" in an otherwise lacklustre career. "I was talking to Mark Taylor and he mentioned several charities in Charlotte County and I chose CCBH. It's the Charlotte County Battered Husbands. It's designed for people who typically drink a quart of whiskey a day and have their ladies beat the crap out of them. Most of the time the ladies either drink a quart too, or are considerably bigger or both. It's a safe haven for them to go to until things cool off. The bidding starts at $2,500," noted a very sentimental Walsh.

The REAL reason Hydro Quebec was after NB Power

World famous rapper and Hockey Voice financial editor Joe Stevens

Bonny River, NB - Joe Stevens used the "Right to Find out Shit Act," as a valuable tool to find the real reason why Hydro Quebec was after NB Power. Stevens discovered the utility knew it would need to run the Bell Center half the summer as the Canadiens ran over opponent after opponent in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Although nobody at Hydro Quebec or NB Power would confirm or deny this rumour, Stevens says, "he got it from a very reliable source."

That's good enough for the Hockey Voice as Stevens is not known to bullshit very much.

Walsh tight-lipped about Kingfishers personnel moves

REPORT: Kingfishers on downhill slide
Acting GM Matty Walsh

Blacks Harbour, NB - Just as soon as the story broke about the Fundy Kingfishers making roster moves, Matty Walsh's lip was sewn up and not loosened. The FIHL champs are reportedly shopping players around in hopes of attracting some interest in the off season. It also has raised some concerns about whether Walsh is even steering this sinking ship as the report notes former assistant GM Jamie Harris has stepped into the position.

Cunningham guarantees Habs victory Wednesday night

Hockey Insider Geoff Cunningham

Bonny River, NB - Geoff Cunningham says he's sticking by an earlier prediction about the Canadiens-Penguins series. "I said the Habs in seven games and it looks I'm right on the button. I ain't no Mark Messier or Mark Taylor for that matter, but I guarantee a Habs victory Wednesday night," said a very confident Cunningham.

Vintage photo surfaces from BIG Show of days gone by

Former Ratz Stars Tracy French, Rob Bosien and Wayne Barrett

Although the date is not known, this picture has to go back possibly ten years ago or maybe more. It was back before the FIHL started up and the Bonny River Ratz made the great pilgramge to play in the BIG Show in late March or early April. Our old buddy Wayne Barrett was the guy who was always curious of the dates as he didn't want to miss out or have anything on his agenada for that weekend. Wayne may be gone in body but will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
