Joe Walsh gives back to community

Walsh auctions off Ratz rookie card for charity
Former Ratz star Joey Walsh
Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Former Ratz star Joe Walsh held a brief press conference Sunday at the Air Canada Center. The move was prompted solely by his desire to give back to the community and had nothing to do with trying to upstage Shane Smith whose rookie card had been revealed on the Hockey Voice. Joey (as his was known at the time to sound more hockey-like) played brielfy with the Bonny River Ratz at the 2006 BIG SHOW.
Walsh reflected back on his career and called it a "high point" in an otherwise lacklustre career. "I was talking to Mark Taylor and he mentioned several charities in Charlotte County and I chose CCBH. It's the Charlotte County Battered Husbands. It's designed for people who typically drink a quart of whiskey a day and have their ladies beat the crap out of them. Most of the time the ladies either drink a quart too, or are considerably bigger or both. It's a safe haven for them to go to until things cool off. The bidding starts at $2,500," noted a very sentimental Walsh.
