Jordan Morrow Talks about His "Pair" after Sunday's game

Blacks Harbour, NB – Sparked by Greg “Crusty” Justason and Eric “Truman” Lee’s pairs; the Ratz downed the Blackland Twisters 6-3 in Sunday night FIHL playoff action. The Ratz also got singles from Chris Richardson and Jason McFarlane and solid goaltending from Warren Giesbrecht to tie the series. The Twisters held a lead of 3-2 after two periods of play backed by a pair by Jordan Morrow and a single by Mike England. The Twisters didn’t have an answer for the 4 third period markers by the Ratz. Twisters goalie Bill Taylor made several key saves to keep the game within reach.

Another significant statistic the Ratz had to battle was they the team is 5-99-1 all time when the “Big 2” of Mark Taylor and Joe Stevens don’t score.

Before the game, Ratz Assistant Captain Mark Taylor passed his 800th goal puck around the dressing room so that everybody could feel the magic from the burnt biscuit. After the game, teammate Carl Chambers remarked that it was a “veteran move” made by Taylor that paid huge dividends.

Upon hearing of the move, Twisters GM Ryan Weatherby was quick to liken it to “voodoo,” and would like to see the league do something about it. Weatherby added, “We found out that the Aboriginal name for Taylor is Walking Eagle - he is so full of shit that he can’t fly. That’s all I have to say.”

Game 3 will be held Tuesday night in Blacks Harbour at 7:40 and while some good seats are still available, it may be wise to contact your favourite Ratz or Twisters player for tickets to ensure you are not disappointed. It is expected to be a game that will go down in FIHL history as one of the greatest.
