FIHL Releases Tie Breaking Method

Richardson's Assistant Makes Key Announcement
FIHL Policy Manager Dink Winkerson
Blacks Harbour, NB - Hockey Voice VP of Operations Chris Richardson announced today that the FIHL has a policy for breaking ties in the standings. Richardson's assistant Dick Winkerson drafted the policy which is the same as the NHL's and Richardson presented it at a press conference late Thursday.
Richardson said, "This league is just under the NHL and a lot of guys can feel it, so we decided to adopt this policy after the NHL's."

The FIHL standings are determined by total points, with the teams ranked according to points. If two or more teams are tied in total points, the tie is broken using the following criteria, in order:
· Most wins.
· Most points in games against each other among the tied teams.
· The greater positive differential between goals scored for and against among the tied teams.
